They said: When this spirit attached to that cavity, all the powers submitted to it and prostrated to it and were made subservient by the command of God Almighty in their entirety. Then, opposite that cavity, another bubble formed, divided into three cavities, between which were delicate partitions and penetrating passages, and it filled with the like of that airy substance with which the first cavity had filled; except that it was finer than it.

And in these three bellies, divided from one, there is a group of those powers that submitted to it and undertook to guard them and manage them, and to convey what occurs in them of fine and coarse things to the first spirit attached to the first cavity.

And opposite this cavity, from the side facing the second cavity, a third bubble forms, filled with an airy body, except that it is coarser than the first two; and a group of those submissive powers settled in this cavity and undertook to preserve it and manage it. Thus these cavities—the first, second, and third—were the first things created from that reddened clay in the order we mentioned.

And some of them needed others: the first of them needed the other two with a need of employment and subjugation.

And the other two needed the first with the need of the subordinate for the leader, and the managed for the manager; and both of them are, in relation to the organs that are created after them, a leader, not a subordinate.

And one of them, which is the second, is more complete in leadership than the third. The first of them, because the spirit attached to it and its heat blazed, took the shape of pine-like fire, and the thick body surrounding it also took its shape, and it became solid flesh, and over it was a thick covering that protected it, and the whole organ was called the heart. And because of the dissolution and consumption of moistures that follow heat, it needed something to supply and nourish it, and to replace what was dissolved from it continually, otherwise its survival would not last. It also needed sensation of what suits it to attract it, and of what opposes it to repel it.

Thus one organ, with the powers it contains whose origin is from it, took care of one of its needs, and the other organ took care of its other need.

The one responsible for sensation was the brain, and the one responsible for nutrition was the liver; and each of these two needed the other to supply it with its heat and with the powers specific to them whose origin is from it. Therefore, for all that, passages and paths were woven between them: some wider than others according to necessity, and these were the arteries and veins.

The natural philosophers described it in the creation of the fetus in the womb, leaving nothing of that out, until its creation was complete and its organs were finished, and it reached the point of the fetus's exit from the belly. They used in describing the completion of that the large fermented clay, and that it had prepared for the formation from it of everything needed in the creation of the human being, such as the membranes covering the whole body and others. So when it was complete, those membranes split from it, similar to labor, and the rest of the clay cracked because dryness had set in.

Then that infant cried for help when the material of its food ran out and its hunger intensified, and a doe that had lost its fawn answered it.

Then it agreed with what these described after this point, and what the first group described regarding upbringing; so they all said: The doe that took care of him found fertility and lush pasture, so her flesh increased and her milk increased, until she provided the best nourishment for that infant.

And she was with him, not moving away from him except for the necessity of grazing.

And the infant became attached to that doe, so that when she delayed from him, his crying intensified, and she would fly to him.

And there was nothing on that island of ordinary beasts of prey, so the child was raised and grew and was nourished by the milk of that gazelle until two years had passed for him, and he progressed in walking and his teeth came in, and he would follow that gazelle, and she would be gentle with him and have mercy on him and carry him to places where there were fruit-bearing trees, and she would feed him what fell from their sweet ripe fruits; and whatever had a hard skin she would break for him with her molars; and whenever he returned to the milk she would give him drink, and whenever he thirsted for water she would lead him to it, whenever the sun was hot she would shade him; and whenever he was cold she would warm him.

And when night fell she would take him to the first place and cover him with herself and with feathers that were there; from what the chest had been filled with at first when the child was placed in it.

And in their going out in the morning and their returning in the evening, a herd of gazelles had become familiar with them, grazing and spending the night with them wherever they spent the night.

So the child continued with the gazelles in that state: he would imitate her tone with his voice so that he could hardly be distinguished between them; and likewise he would imitate all that he heard of the sounds of birds and the various kinds of other animals, with a strong imitation due to the intensity of his emotion for what he wanted, as was his imitation of the gazelles' sounds in calling for help, in seeking familiarity, in calling, and in repelling.

Since animals in these different states have different sounds, the wild beasts became familiar with him and he with them; and they did not reject him nor did he reject them.
